45th Annual Boulder Mountain Handmade a Huge Success

The 45th Boulder Mountain Handmade exceeded our expectations by all measures. Attendance at the two-day event at Boulder Elks Lodge was our highest ever. 60 independent artisans and vendors filled the marketplace, our largest group to date.

Sales in two key fundraising areas, Boulder Mountain Bakes and Boulder Mountain Creates, exceeded even last year’s eye-popping totals.

At 45 years, this long-running community craft event remains a potent fundraiser for Boulder Mountain Fire Auxiliary, and an effective connector among many in the fire district community.

Thanks to all the bakers, crafters, cashiers, recruiters, builders and take-downers, shleppers and helpers who pulled it off for another year.

Follow this link to our 2019 Boulder Mountain Handmade photo gallery to revisit our event. All are welcome to take part in 2020; just drop a note to BMHArt@bouldermountainfire.org.

Holiday ornaments, anyone?

Holiday ornaments, anyone? Auxiliary volunteers start crafting early, and all district residents are invited to spend some time this summer helping create merchandise for Boulder Mountain Creates, the special area of Boulder Mountain Handmade where proceeds from all donated works go to support volunteer firefighting.

These relaxed, productive craft sessions make some of our most popular sale items:

Tuesday, August 20, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Make up-cycled, lined, fabric eyeglass cases and purse pouches.

(Max 8 participants)

Email Florentina Cruz to register. Once registered, participants will receive details about location and supplies needed.

Indie artisans and specialty food purveyors are already registering for booths in the Boulder Mountain Handmade marketplace. Interested in selling your works? Click here.

Watch for more volunteer opportunities in the community forums, on Next Door and on Facebook!

A beautiful May weekend helped make light work for BMFPD volunteers who conducted the annual Fire Safety Sale. In a team effort, firefighters taught residents how to put out a fire using – well, real fire; scene support and incident support volunteers tested residents’ fire extinguishers and helped identify those subject to recall; Auxiliary’s outreach and education team conducted the equipment sale, mitigation education sessions, the semi-annual New Resident Welcome and a fire-themed kids’ activity area.

Residents can still get extinguishers, detectors and reflective address sign kits at the online Fire Safety Store: https://www.bmfpd.org/fire-safety-store

We’ll deliver to your door!
